I STARTED WALKING YESTERDAY
I have started a walking regimen with a friend of mine, yesterday. We walk along a bluff road that goes by the river, and today was a beautiful winters day, as well as yesterday. We could see geese, and the beautiful rocky bluffs. We are keeping a log of all the miles and how we feel when we are finished, it's so great and motivational. We began this walk, because we both were discussing that we needed to get ourselves in better, healthier shape. My friend is my age..50...and he has had a heart attack, and diabetes. And, of course you all know what things I am going through, in addition to the cancer and 2 treatments that I now take, I also have a slight congestive heart failure from the sepsis I had a year ago, October. Yesterday, we walked 2 and 1 half miles in 1 hour. Today, we walked 4 .5 miles in 1 hr. and 42 minutes. I am a bit tired, but it invigorates me. Very good for you, mentally, physically, and strengthens your health. We are so happy to do this. I hope that we can be an inspiration to those of you, who wish they could do it. It can be done!! Just do it, it's so worth it. There is also a website you can log all of the activities of the days you walk, and it tells you a lot about lots of things...very interesting and motivational. And, believe me, if I can do it, many of you can do it too....I spent the 1st week of this month very sick from my treatments, and here I am back on my feet and trying to stay healthy. It truly is fun, especially with a friend. I am a little soar right now, but, in time it will be worth it, and in no time, we shouldn't be feeling so sore. I loved it!!! __If you would like the name of the sight we log into to keep up with what we do each day. Just ask, and I will be happy to give you the link!!!! : )
